Holy Mackeral- I added a picure. This is Mirror Lake, as taken from the Mirror Lake Inn. When you are lucky enough to get up on a sunny morning and go for a 5 mile run around this lake, you are lucky indeed. It was a beautiful summer morning and the run was the best I have had [read: most effortless] since my surgery. For that, I am a grateful girl!
I am really, really trying on this stellar weather morning not to let the 6 day forecast of rain rain rain get to me. Really, I am. Tonight after Little League, I have organized a pot-luck cookout right at the field after the game. Beats trying to figure out dinner at 8:15 pm and I think it's good for the kids to hang out off the field as well. Who wants to do an end of the season cookout-- by the time it's over, I am already emotionally checked out and ready to MOVE ON! I think the focus of kids' sports should be friendship, teamwork, and exercise. The hell with winning- what a better life lesson to learn how to be a gracious loser. Yeah, I said it. And as the coach's wife, I would probably receive death threats from certain people if they knew (not from him, though- he agrees).
Started a new book last night-- "Girlbomb"-a memoir about a homeless teenage girl living in shelters in NYC....I think it's going to be a good one, and I'm about done for now with the girly beach reads that were just making me feel bad it wasn't beach weather.
And now I sit on the verge of cup of coffee #3- wanting it, but waiting for the CoffeeCow shipment to arrive, and knowing if I partake before the new varieties arrive, I will NOT be able to have cup #4.
