Update, Long Overdue

One might think that the winter would be quieter, calmer, a bit more like hibernation.

Ummmmm, no. And it is apparently preventing me from being a good blogger.

We are off, almost constantly, to the mountain for Cloudsplitter, to the ski jumping hill for our newly aspiring ski jumper who is lightly contemplating a swtich to Nordic Combined next year (sure to be swayed by the excitement of the Olympics, especially if we medal in Nordic Combined, considering that he is watching Bill DeMong videos on YouTube), and to the arena for the skating program (strictly recreational- no routines or costumes for us!) And to that a hunger for teleskiing, a introduction to ice climbing, and some NCS pond hockey, and I think we have 2 boys who hope the winter never ends. I have had some great snow shoe hikes (Whiteface Landing, Cat and Thomas, Marcy Dam, plus plenty of JBF adventures)and quite a few good skis at Van Ho and also some nice JBFs- God bless John Browns Farm- we are so lucky to live so close.

In other news, I've signed up for an April 10 Half Marathon (and appear to be running nearly as fast as pre-injury with little effort-- LOVING THAT), and we are taking a March 20 weeklong cruise out of NYC for the Bahamas. We're going to spend the night in NYC before we sail. Big's done off March 10-28 and Little is off March 28- April 12. Guess who's missing school???? I started and quit kickboxing (not enough cardio for this runner) and am also trying my hand at an online Fiction Writing class. It's a lot of work and I wish I had more time for it because I enjoy it.

Amie Martina has moved, and that sucks. Thank God for texting.

Just returned from a girls' weekends in NYC with Sheryl (her Christmas gift), Natalie and Ann, and the weekend before Andrew was in Chicagoland with Eric for School of Fires BBQ College.

I would dare say we are halfway through the "winter"-- not counting the part that comes disguised as spring.
