Despite starting my day by making a trip to NCS to pickup skis that SHOULD have been brought home last night (ugh), the day was nice. Boys went to the mountain and we had a lovely breakfast with the Sunday Times and 14,000 cups of coffee (who knows really, because when at the Lake Placid Lodge, you take a sip and they come running to refill. Me likey.) The breakfast? She was large, and the ordering was induced by the fact that I knew I had a long run on the afternoon schedule. Not sure any length of run can justify a poached egg with hollandaise on corned beef hash with a side (?) of scrambled and jack cheese and sausage, all in a skillet.
Came home feeling FULLLLLLL, but was wise enough to know that sitting would make it worse and puttered around cleaning till it was time to go run.
Had a sick 8 mile run on River Road. 69 minutes makes it a long, fast run that I probably would have thought impossible at this time last year. Road was a bit slippery due to morning snow, and although I still feel as though I JUST ate, it was, all in all, a great run. And really? What is better then a leisurely shower and no evening plans after such a great run? Well, I will tell you. Not much.
