1. "Wicked" is every bit as good the second time. Maybe better. Vynl is always a sure bet and Ellen's Stardust Diner was a blast. Too bad both soon-to-be third graders were too chicken to ride the Times Square Toys R Us ferris wheel. Were the My Little Pony and Scooby Doo ferris wheel cars that menacing?
2. Hiking is fun. Hiking in the pouring rain with a boy who said he was too sick to hike but you thought was being lazy but was really too sick is not really quite as fun. Still, Mt. Esther = done. Only 38/46 more to go.
3. Dinner with Sheryl and Amy is always fun. And you just can't beat lobster salad on a buttery pretzel roll.
4. Rain on 4th of July sucks. Going to work to catch up on some things in the rainy quiet of 4th of July morning is fulfilling.
5. Watch Island is just glorious. Fun in the rain, stellar in the sun. When you fearfully believe that it may be the only day of the summer on which you will see the sun, sunscreen is surprisingly easy to disregard.
6. Baseball + mosquitos + temps in the 50s = yucky. Let's start playoffs and pray for sunny weather. Sure would be fun to sweat during a game. And need water instead of coffee in thermos.
7. Family weddings are a lot of drama. Deep breaths, deep breaths. It's almost here.
