The weekend was funfilled and busy! Friday night started with chinese, pizza, red wine and chocolate cake at the Whiteface Lodge with the Byrnes and the Holmeses. Kids swam, adults visited.
Saturday morning, I ran my race-- 27:40 for my first 5K since my injury is okay by me! It was cold and sunny, and I felt great even crossing the finish line. From there it was off to Glens Falls and the Jackson Heights school carnival, where in addition to the Motsiffs, we ran into the Tallons, the Walkers, and Denise (Serotta) Jackson and her mom. So, it was a fun day of visiting. After the mall and Price Chopper,we had a fondue dinner and headed home.
Sunday was all about readying: our house, our suitcases for the trip(s), the boys rolled change all day. After skating, we had Sheryl and the girls over for dinner.
Now we are in felony jury trial (Huntington) at work, and tomorrow, it's off to relax. For the time being, I'm struggling with whether or not it's a good idea to jet this family to Ireland at the summer's end: it will hog-tie me a bit financially as far as other summe/fall plans, but it feels like the timing is right with the kids' ages, the great cottage and the reasonble airfare. Stay tuned.
