Well, when we left off, I was heading into the woods for a hike on the trail system near my office for a lunchtime release. Twas very nice. Those trails do have some mystery to them in that it would be quite easy to get lost. But it was a great 50 minute hike and I hope to go back, soon!
Friday brought another great AM hike up Owls Head and later, the Fisher gang for an intense 18 hour reunion. Not really sure whey our 5 kids together feel a bit more like they number 10, but they had fun. I made a yum spring aspargus hash from smitten and we attended the NCS pancake breakfast in the morning. By afternoon, we were off to Caitlin's First Communion and a nice affair afterwards at the Community Center with Hunter's family as well. Allergies REALLY flared this week- by Friday night my chest was tight and wheezy. Gotta start allergy meds by mid April next year. And maybe Claratin instead of Zyrtec.
Sunday morning was Mother's Day and that brought SNOW. I stayed in bed nearly till 9, kept putting off my run, and woke gently to pickup my room. That was what I wanted to do. Changed over shoes to sandals from boots-- ironic as the snow was measurable (an inch). Following Dancing Bear and a cone from Ben and Jerry's (still snowy and windy) the kids and dog and I zipped up to JBF, and I then went to GF to spend the night before my appointment for the results of Big's educational testing eval in Albany.
Flirted with the idea of a new laptop in the Apple store Monday morning, but my financial restraint prevailed and zipped through the stores in Crossgates and Styvesant. Had a nice lunch with my mom, a great appointment (though 3 hours long) in Albany and was home by 7:30.
Tuesday brough a sunny but cool day that ended with a work trip so Rick could drop off his boat title. Kinda sad, a chapter closed. Big stayed late for a play rehearsal and Little went to lax. My sinus headache comes and goes.
Today was a day that started with me charring a bagel to the point of fire department involvement (automatic alarm) and kinda kept on going in an alarming fashion, including a call from the GE Monster-- though we all did our best to stay positive as we have no info.
Something in my L hamstring feels like it's shredding- time for heat tonight! I did forgo a run (great night for it and I was free for a good hour) for yoga-- probably smart-- though it's no looser....why do I forget how much I love yoga?? Tomorrow is an IEP writing session with Jessica to start the day.....and here we go for another busy week. I am LOVING THE Happiness Project book and also my new ideas for financial gain-- still researching the idea which will take a full year to effectuate. Exciting to think about though. :)
